Our favorite and most admired projects are our custom one-off projects. In these projects, MPYD has been give the chance to design every detail, down to the smallest industrial design elements. It is here that we are able to show our talent for blending the pure artistic elements of design with our best technical abilities. The Alpha Z 31' Mahogany runabout represents the pinnacle of both design and materials.

Accolades for this project, designed by MPYD and built by Van Dam Wood Craft, range from exposure in boating press such as Classic Boating and Professional Boatbuilder to design forums like i.d. and graphis to lifestyle magazines of the highest order: Playboy and Stratos.

In 2003, Fine Living channel's iDesign program hosted Michael Peters and highlighted Alpha-Z for an episode entitled "Speed Racers." Peters segment accompanies spots from adidas, Bang & Olufsen, and Porsche Design.

Every detail of Alpha Z is impeccably hand-built to our design. Vendors included MetalCrafters and Dooney & Bourke, to name a few. The show-finished engine is by Keith Eickert and it produces sufficient power to drive speeds above the century mark.
